Removing seized exhaust

I want to swap my K-tec catback for an unsilenced centre section, the problem is the join between the back box and the centre section is seized.

Anyone know the best way to solve this? Is it possible to get both sections out as 1 piece?

Little background on this - My K-tec exhaust has developed a hole at the weld of a brace near the centre silencer. I've picked up a nearly new but unbranded stainless catback, with an unsilenced centre section. Oh and a decat at the same time.
I want to fit the new exhaust and decat (for the noise!). I was hoping to keep the Ktec and have the hole repaired. That way when I've had enough of the drone I can swap it back.

I've been told just cut it to remove it. Then hope to be able to weld it back together. Seems a bit drastic. Any ideas?

I take it you’re doing this on the floor and not on a ramp? It will come apart just needs a bit persuasion! I would suggest taking the clamp off and get a small chisel to open the sleeve up where it goes over the centre section. Just keep at it it will go, also help it out with some lube like duck oil,WD40 etc

Yep, doing it on the floor. Not a lot of room to maneuvre.

I'll it a go with a chisel. Maybe I just need to be more persistent!

What does dropping the rear beam involve? I'm guessing it's a lot of effort.

Cheers

You need to persevere with it , lots of wiggling and wd40. Make sure it's well supported whilst your under it.

Take the back box off the hangers and keep
Twisting and pulling should come apart but it that fails have somebody do that but get some wood put it on the back of the back box and while it is being twisted hit the wood with a lump hammer.
