Removing standard head unit

Sorry if this has been posted before, Ill bet it has but the search turned up nothing.

Is there anything special I should know about safely removing the standard HU from my 53 cup? I destroyed the standard one in my last car prising it out.

get a set of release tools from halfords or a car audio centre and it will come out a piece of piss.
