Removing steering wheel thumb grips.

OK, anyone know how to remove them without totally destroying them? How are they attached? Is it a push in fit? :S:S I want to take them off for covering with leather. Might even create moulds for new carbon or rubber ones. 172 ph2.

They are stuck on with glue under their entirety.. mine came off but ripped :-S

Pry one side up and just use a stanley knife when it looks like it's gonna stick.

Is there anything else under the rubber like a steel insert? Or is it all rubber? Mine feels like there is something inside and looking at other thread photos there seems to be something there.

Just the steering wheel frame underneath the glue. Tbh my right hand side one just works its way off itself on hot days lol
