Removing The 172 Airbox . .

Is it straight forward? Will be fitting my new induction kit this weekend and just wondered if its a easy job and what tools i need?

not that bad i shouldnt have thought, tourqx driver and a few spanners , maybe some allan keys .. not sure my 1.416v basivally falls off witha Pull LMAO, still should be simple u got a haynes manual?

Its just 2 bolts one at the front and one at the back . Then disconnect both air feeds .

You all forgot to tell him about the vacuum line that goes to the acoustic valve.

If you remove the line you've got to plug it so it doesn't leak air.

And ive got to block this just to fit a induction kit. Ummmm not keen on messing about to much because that when things fo wrong.

You all forgot to tell him about the vacuum line that goes to the acoustic valve.

If you remove the line you've got to plug it so it doesn't leak air.

He only wants to remove the airbox . No need to touch the vacuum pipe to the acoustic valve , thats a separate thing altogether .

But if your fitting an IK you'll want to remove the acoustic valve to plumb in a cold air feed and you can't get past the valve unless you remove it.

Just a thought

^^^ Not necessarily . I have an enclosed IK and use the original feeds , or some people feed the cold air feed to front grill or foglight .

Yeah agree if your using the original feeds but how do you get a60/70mm cafdown past the original piping and the acoustic valve/associated gubbins?

Sounds like people can't be arsed to remove it lol
