Im tinking of removing my dash atthe weekend to change the colour of my dials, how do you remove the top of it?

i tried this, 3 screws along the top of the dash in the air vent thingy, one screw either far side of the dash near where the fuses are and some location on the opposide side, 3 under the "air bag" strip, one under the other far side strip, 2 under the dials, but u need to undo the 2 under the sterring wheel which holds the steering column cover on

thats interesting, i might need to do mine to get at my temp reading display. In my Haynes manual it says that before any work on the dash is to be carried out, read the safety precautions on airbags. This says to remove the drivers airbag before carrying out such work.

Is this necessary? Or can i just remove the steering column cowl, then the dash?

wouldn't unhook the battery... but it can't hurt.. its really easy to remove..

3 screws on the windscreen vents.. 2 behind the passanger side dash strip and 1 behind the drivers dash strip... then pop the column cover off and undo the 2 bolts under the clocks... then remove the a pillar sections... pull from the top till it clicks out and pop a screwdriver in to release the top clip, then they will just come away... there is also 2 small plastic screws facing the door panels on the sides of the dash.. take them out and the plastic inserts out... all done :)

Wouldn't fiddle with the drivers airbag mate, as you say theres no need to get the dash off, just take the cowlings off the column and away you go, I wouldn't even bother disconnecting the battery as Joshy said.
