removing track rod ends?

How the heck do you remove them?

got my dci steering rack today and cliospares have angle grinded the end off , so i need to remove them to fit new ones tommorow..

just unscrew them no??? they have flats on dont they so you can adjust tracking etc, cant you just unscrew it?

Undo the nut away from the TRE, then twist the TRE off.. Should be simple enough seen as you've got the rack out of the car, Get it in the vise and get some stilsons around the fucker

I assume there's a nut on the end...

Yee, theres a nut, and there's like a part on the were the track rod end connectes to which i can get a spanner in, but for the life of me i cant twist it, :S will have to take it to a garage tommorow as iv been trying for the past 2hours to remove them ffs,

they tend to seize; may need oxy gear to get them off

takin them off is a piece of pi*s. fastening them to the hub, now there's the issue you'll need to struggle with:rasp:

some wd40 and some spanners, take two mins

im guessing he's bought a dci rack, wants to get the old rod ends off to fit new ones. reading it properly.

I have another steering rack which has some track rod ends allready, so im just swapping them over

Nah im in work till 4, so wont be home till after 5, But i have asked mum if she has a spare hour to take it to a mechanic i use he wont charge me tho
