Renault Clio 1.2 Billabong Engine Sound...

  Renault Clio 1.2
Hi! I recently got my new which is a 1.2 clio 03 plate and I'm just wondering if they're any possible way I can improve the sound of the engine without affecting my insurance or performance; I don't wont to make it go faster but I would just like to make it sound a bit more nicer. Is there any possible way I can do this, I was told getting an air filter can make it sound quite nice but I'm not completely sure. I have around a budget of £10 - £30. Thanks :D

nothing you can do without messing up your insurance, hence leave it alone and live with 75 raging horsepower

Accept the fact that you're a young lad with expensive insurance, and lucky enough to have someone risking their insurance policy to have you as a named driver.

Since this is the case, I'm going to assume the car isn't yours either. In which case, be grateful you have a car at all.

Can some admin close this forum down please. Clearly on the wrong site to be talking about cars as the only responses I've got so far is to do nothing, drill holes and general stupid replies. Also some PEOPLE, some hard working people can't afford £1200 - £2000 a year, I use the car to go to full time education so I can progress, what's wrong with that? And it's our risk, that shouldn't be anyone's problem.

All I was saying fella was that if you are choosing to evade the same rules that we all have to adhere to...I wouldnt advertise it on an internet forum. There was an insurer who would ask you're username on here and then if you had a claim...would check to ensure that everything on your car in any threads or comments was covered by the insurance or they wouldnt pay out.

Remember...insurance is a big pot we all put into. They will do anything to get out of paying out...so dont give them reason to. If you hit something and you're not covered...then bad times...even if its not your fault!!

Most of the people telling you not to bother spending money on mods or 'upgrades' for your 1.2 have already done it some years ago. For the money you pay, you will get minimal gains and anything you've spent wont be recouped. I'm sure most wouldnt have done it had they realised the amount that they have spent for next to no gains....thats all. :)
