there is a loss, but you would only have that conversion if you were doing alot of motorway miles id have thought, so you could switch back to petrol for tanking it down the lanes?

mate sent me this the earlier, wouldnt go near it at that bin price

yeh it mentions you can swap to petrol via a swich inside to get the full 172 so i presume its less than that with gas only to be honest i think i would would save loads for times when your stuck in trafic jams, round town etc be kinda like having nos drive with gas then swich to petrol for a boost lol

hes obviously made use of the lpg! lol. doing 102k in it.

you do get slightly less mpg with the LPG but obviously its less than half the price in the first place.

I know a lad who bought a ph 2 with an lpg conversion done on it, and i can honestly say there was no noticeable difference running it on gas or on v power.

That car won't have much power loss because it uses multipoint gas injection. Single point conversions (where the gas is injected at the throttle body) have a larger power loss because the lpg uses up volume in the intake manifold so there's room for less air. There'll still be small power loss because LPG needs slightly more oxygen to generate a bhp than petrol does. And you don't lose boot space because it uses a donut tank in the spare wheel well. But that would limit it to a small gas tank with a short range.

I wish I knew where I could get an installation like that. I'd do it.

The system fitted there is a dream 3000. quite easy to install tbh. but parts alone come to 1.6k.

as above the multi-point injection systems are deffo the better systems, and you also loose mpg but the cost of gas is alot cheaper.

You can also change from petrol-gas when ever you want. but it needs petrol to start until its warmed up.

the tanks are usually 25l tanks if its a 'donut' which means its in the spare wheel well, it also will only ever fill up to 75% of the capacity, due to gas expansion etc.

Doesn't seem like a professional installation. They normally have the filler cap located on the same side as the normal filler.

Just spotted its on the bottom of the rear bumper :quiet: just hope no one rearend's it LOL.
