Renault Clio TCE 1.1 'Braking Fault' Message help!

  Clio World Series
Ive just purchased (yesterday) a 59 plate renault clio TCE 1.1 turbo.

Whilst taking it for a long run today i approached 60mph (3000rpm) the braking fault message appeared on the dash, including the STOP sign, ABS light, handbrake (!) light. This appeared when accerlerating and I had not even touched the brakes.

The light remained on even when i turned the ignition back off, until I left it for ten minutes or so and when turning back the ignition on it went off.

I contacted my dealer straight away and I took the car straight down. He 'fixed' the issue- stating it was mud or some similar substance that had got onto the sensor? This seemed to work...untl i drove home on the motorway and the beep and message came on again when i hit 58mph.

Ive since booked my car in for tomorrow but am very concerned that the garage fobbed me off so to speak as i cant find anything similar on the internet

I asked if the speed was linked in anyway (as when driving >60 the message does not appear) but he said it was unrelated.

Any ideas what this could be?

the pads are brand new and its just had a service so cant imagine the brake fluid being low.

Not 100% sure due to all of the mentioned lights coming on at the same time, but its possible it could be a faulty ABS/wheel speed sensor. Probably not very helpful but thought I'd throw it out there.

Did you get any definitive answers? I'm interested as to what the outcome was.
ps. Not sure why it'd be only above 60 but dirt buildup on the magnetic pickups doesn't aid matter much but if they already cleaned that up then as I say my initial thoughts do head towards either the wheel sore sensor or possible the pick up ring. Wonder if I'm right lol

Assuming there are no faults with wheel targets or sensors here...

This *normally* happens on the Clio III/Megane III when some numpty bleeds the brakes incorrectly. The ABS/ESP modules on these vehicles require pressure bleeding and doesn't like the gravity fed one man bleeds most garages do. It will need modulating on CLIP to get rid of the "beep beep" followed by the generic message I'm afraid.

Ooh I didn't know that, that's a handy thing to know cheers :)

Edit: I find have two people doing it the traditional way if the fastest most efficient way of doing brake fluid changes/ bleeding.
