Renault Finance

Does anyone here pay for their car through renault finance? I went in today and im getting friends and family discount on a 172 (22%:D) and he gave me a total stupid APR of 14%! I just laughed at him and told him ill get a loan for the rest of the amount i cannot afford as itll be cheaper! He told me to go in tomorrow (when im ordering it) and hell see what he can do for me, i just said if he cant match/beat 8%APR, ill get a loan.

Please please can someone help me decide what colour to go for!!!! Its between RED or SILVER. I like both but feel the silver is going to be common with the Clio CUP just released in it. But tbh the silver does have the edge coz it looks awesome!

Thanks

Boyo

you should be able to get 7.1 on renault finance on there selections plan, thats how im paying for my new 172 and its how i paid for my extreme.

personally Iv pearl black but wish Id got silver as people associate that colour with the 172 and it shows up the lines better, get what colour YOU want and dont be worried what other people have got . p

Ive spoken to the person getting me the friends and family discount and she has sorted it! Its going to be below 8%, gonna get a proper figure tomorrow. I dont want black as i have a black clio now and its not my favourite colour car! My mum doesnt want me to have blue as she thinks its unlucky for me:oops: (crashed two blue cars) so that leaves red or silver.

Im still undecided but the salesperson said he recommends silver?! Ive never even looked at the 172 properly in RL, just seen pictures!! I wanted to take one for a test drive but no dealers around here have any and are waiting on delivery of the test car!

Thanks

Boyo

Ps. Still want help on colour!!!

if you dont mind either way, the one they can deliver the quickest, waiting for it is the hardest part

Just ordered it and gone for ................................ Iceburg silver.

Gotta wait 8 weeks for it though :(

Oh well, i reckon itll be worth the wait, bit of a difference between the 172 and the 1.2 dynamique i currently have!

Thanks

Never use dealers for finance as generally theyre a rip off. When I went to buy my motor the dealer tried selling me an extortionate fianance deal. When I asked him for the APR he tried to fob me off with the flat rate. When I asked for the APR,; he said he didnt know. I didnt actually say but but he knew that I was trying to say "Do you think Im a f***in idiot Im not being ripped off". The actual car was £12,500 (EU Import) if the interest was added on the car would have been £18000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! £5,500 interest. Instead a did a loan comparison on http://www.AUTOTRADER.CO.UKWWW.AUTOTRADER.CO.UK & found lombard direct to be the cheapest (6.4% APR). The car with interest over 5 years is £14,000 thats still cheaper than to but a new UK Clio 172. My advice is to shop around & always ask for the APR which by law they should provide. Of course some dealers will try & match loan companies. Unless a dealer offers 0% finance, it usually pays to go somewhere else. Another scam a dealer will carry out is that they will near enough match the APR but will wack on a hefty admin fee, so if you do accept a loan from a dealer ask how much in total will be paid back, along with the APR.

Ive only paid £11428 for a Brand New Clio172 from a Renault UK Garage ;)

Thank god for friends and family discounts :D

Thanks again

Boyo

I bought a Clio 1.4 Dynamique today and used Renault Finance and I got a good deal. The APR is 4.6%, which beat all the other loans I looked at, the best I saw was Tesco loans and that was 6.7% APR.

Are you sure thats 4.7% APR and NOT 4.7% flat rate? Only, i heard the salesmanager talking to the finance managaer at Renault and he said he CANNOT go lower than 7%APR to anyone for anything?! Still not signed my finance agreement, just ordered the car coz i can get a loan for 6.6%APR so im undecided what to do!

My 1.2dynamique had only 8000 miles on the clock and is immaculate! Its just a family thing that its gone cheap to my brother, oh and the fact that its gone without messing about selling it!!!

Ive got an appointment tomorrow with the finance guy at renault and hes promised me a good deal because i got my "friend" to sort the salesman out with his silly quotes!!

I waited 6weeks to pick my dynamique up and that was bad, im gonna struggle to cope with waiting for 8weeks!!!

Peanuts?!!!

When i first sat down, it worked out £25 A MONTH more expensive than what he offered me yesterday!!! Sorry but that aint peanuts ........ thats takin the p**s. £25 a month over 4 years works out to be £1200 EXTRA! Im glad i know a bit about finance and loans now otherwise i wouldve been £1200 worse off.

Anyway, im off to find some good pictures off a 172 in Silver :D

Bear in mind that not all APR figures are strictly comparable. The APR % basis of expressing the true cost of a finance deal was introduced so that consumers could compare like with like and shop around. Over the years the definition of what constitutes the APR has become slightly vague, so you may well find that two seemingly identical finance packages, where the cost of interest along with associated charges (such as that good old documentation fee or option to purchase charge) are nigh on identical, that have quite different APRs depending on how they "calculate" it.

The best/only true way to compare is to work out the amount you will actually have to pay during the period of the loan (as Boyo and 172horses have).

I managed to get 3.9% APR on my cup, i was told that was the lowest they could possibly go
Thats flat rate not APR. Ask them what the real figures is after fees etc.

Just got home from work now, i spoke to the salesman on the phone and told him i can get a loan for 6.8%APR and he matched it!!!

So overall, the difference from the first quote of monthly payments to the second is an astonishing £28 a month! Good job i have contacts ;)
