Renault should get back in the BTCC?

The past BTCC was the best IMO with the likes of Audi, Renault, Volvo etc and they need all those manufacturers to come back and compete against each other again!!! Yeah the racing now is still very competitive but I was watching a program a few weeks back about the past and present of BTCC and the battles that used to go on was immense back then and it was always so close to call who was going to win it in every race. Get all those manufacturers back I say

Agreed - poxy bloody Civics and Seats, at least the Vectra and BMWs are proper sized touring cars.

New Megane Coupe would be perfect. S2000 rules, engine off the peg from Sodemo, SQ6M ECU, Sadev or XTrac box, brakes from AP, suspension from Ohlins, Cage by Matter.

Looms etc. could all be done by PWS. Need a team of 5 guys on a 5 day 37 hour week for 4 months to build two cars - then 7 guys for 2 months test and development.

If anybody, including Renault, actualy want to run a Renault BTCC team then drop me a line because its do-able to the point that I've already but a budget, person and car requirement together!!

has to be a 2 ltr normally aspirated for the petrol...could have the diesel one? But a touring car is pushing 300bhp from a 2 ltr normally aspirated (petrol). But diesel seems to be the way forward?
