Renault sport interior into a Dynamique...How to guide?

  RS Megane DCi 175
Have had a nosey around the articles section but don't see a 'How to...' guide for fitting a 182 interior into an '02 Dynamique.
Is there one or can someone point me in the right direction?

'Idiots guide' would be better than a 'How to...' one ;)

Cheers!

there isnt one at the mo i dont think, but theres so many people that have done it it shouldnt be hard to get someone to help! I've just fitted doorcards and rear bench (proper arse) best advice is try it yourself if you get stuck pm me and i'll try my best to help.

The rear seats are easy to change. Firstly take out the base and then remove the black bar in the boot with a 17mm socket. You can now get to the bolt holding the seat back in. Undo the bolt that is closest to the back, then you may have to loosen the front bolt. Lift the sides out of the guides and slide the seat towards the boot. Refitting is just a reversal, but before you do that swap the rear side cards over whilst you have the space.
To change the rear doorcards unbolt both the rear seatbelt and the front one, then carefully prise the card off having already removed the speaker.
The front doorcards are a little more complicated. On my mk2 ph1 I actually needed to extend the electric window switch wires by about 4 inches. Firstly remove the speaker cover then the speaker and then the window switches. Next remove the screw holding the handle on and remove the cable from it. Remove the grab handle screw and pull this out. You then have to remove the bit of plastic running up to the top of the door at the rear and pull off the plastic that cover the mirror mountings. Now undo the four screws at the bottom of the door. The only things holding the panel on are a few plastic clips and very sticky black stuff. Gently pull the panel away from the door and cut the black stuff away. Again its just a reversal for fitting the new one.
The front seats are daunting but easy enough. Firstly disconnect the battery and wait for at least 5 minutes and undo the wires underneath the seats, then remove the plastic side covers at the base of the seat using a torx socket to undo the screw and push them towards the front of the car. Remove the seat belt holder so you can see all the bolts underneath the pretensioner. On each side there are 3 bolts so just undo all of these and the seat will come out leaving the subframe in the car. Put the new seat in and gradually tighten up the bolts going round to opposite bolts so they are not lopsided. Then just put the seatbelt holder back in place and refit the plastic covers.

Any more questions don't hesitate to ask
John

As I say, it'll be much improved soon!

good basic guide their John, ^^ this bit is quite important and annoying had to extend and through crimp about 7 wires on the right and 6 on the left or something.

wish I had a guide, but had to make do with common sense...

Nice one guys on the how to guide...doesn't look all that hard by the looks of things. Any chance of some pics of the trickier stages as well? If not, I'll take some.
Cheers for the help guys!

good point, theres been a few threads on that and not sure if we actually worked it out. I think theres a different colours/connectors between the 172 and 182 seats oh and the normally seats in ph1 and ph2 are different too :S

  A well built VW
All you need to do is swap over the seatbelt pretensioners and they will match up ok ( with no lights on the dash problems ) worked for me

Yeah thats what we'll be doing, I wrote that guide over 2 years ago and dint have a camera back then so Johnny has taken some of him doing the back seats and then we'll take pics of the other stages as well,m whilst we do his car.

Remember this folks when removing tight bolts. Retighten them every so often when you are loosening them, this usually saves the threads from getting destroyed. The one that holds the back seat in is a bit of a b!tch so I used a slightly bigger star piece than the tool provided already in the car to take it out. Worked a treat! :D

as i have got me seats there are blue and brown wires cut on both seats also a pink and grey wire are cut too on the drivers side hmmm what do i need to do people

Disconnect the pretensioners that are already attched to your old seats, no need to cut the wires, then put you new seats in and put the old pretensioners in.

Johnny is on his way home so more pics soon and the full guide will be done when i get back from a wee holiday Im having!

Ok this seatbelt pretensioner lark, can someone explain this?
I'll be picking up the interior next week and it's not exactly down the road so I want to make sure I get everything!
What do I need so as to avoid lights on the dash? seatbelt etc...

(Like I said on my original post - I need an "idiots guide!")

Thats a pic of the pretensioner mate.
Heres a wee guide just for you and only about the pretensioners, not the whole interior.

Step 1 Disconnect battery
Step 2 Wait 10 minutes, have a cuppa or a w**k or whatever
Step 3 Take off the plastic that covers the pretensioner, you need a t20 torx screw for that.
Step 4 Unbolt that 1 big screw you can see in the pic above, about t45 torx.
Step 5 Take the wiring off the bottom of the seat

and disconnect one side of the wire from the other.
Step 6 pull wiring through the gap at the side of the seat
Step 7 You have now removed your pretensioner :)

Refitting is the opposite of putting it in, its not difficult mate, give it a bash and it'll me all good.

EvilJohn - Thanks for the mini 'How to' - I've saved in a PDF to print off later!
This guide is going to prove to be a god send! - Much appreciated fellas!

  One with a few more
RE: wiring in the seats.
ph2 to ph2 seats will connect straight up. The problem arises when you put ph2 seats into a ph1 car - or vise versa. The connectors are different as are the coloured wires

No worries, as I say a full guide will be written within the week, back on Thursday so will start it then.

Great stuff - picking the interior up on Saturday, fitting on Sunday. A full day should do it shouldn't it?!
