renault sport or clio sport

Yeah but they look different anyway ! a sport says 2ltr 16v on the side to start with and is in silver. I had a dynamique before i bought my 172 it is the same inside apart from the 172 has half leather seats and my dynamique had cloth seats.
I never lied about mine whats the point ? i never bother telling people i have a 2ltr unless they ask me what car i have.
Its a car at the end of the day!!

hmm i think thats a dynamique not a sport.
the sport range on the new clios (not the newest anymore) are the 182's or the vee's.
other wise you could call any clio a sport if you wanted to.
unless its called a sport then its not one.

i have a clio from the sport collection so i am not wrong by calling it a clio sport, if i told people i had a renaultsport clio then yes i would be wrong

lol, its always great to get one up on the nob heads from skool!!! Why do people want to pretend they have a sport when its only a 1.2, i mean i own a 1.2 and dont try to pretend its a sport because its not!!

they are not pretending they are a sport. Renault have actually called that model a sport, just because a car is a 1.2 doesn't mean it cant be called a sport. Sport doesn't automatically mean you've got a car with a 2.0ltr or above engine.

Perhaps the insurance groups are a better indicator of sportiness! I never thought of cliosport as anything other than this forum/club! You live n learn!!

Martin, I agree about the insurance groups as well as how tempting your car is to thieving gits!!

just like the pug 106 quicksilver compaired to the GTi or the saxo 1.4 compaired to the VTS the list goes on, all the cars designed for us 17-18yr olds who cant insure performance.

Good debate going on here! As you've probably guessed i'm a bit older.....36 in fact so insurance is reasonable now. I paid more to insure a Citroen AX 1.1 when 19 than for the 182 now!! Wasn't impressed at the time but with good old hindsight did well to survive with that modest powered car, never mind something with some decent performance!

was walking to the shop the other day and saw an 05 plate clio outside but didn't really pay any attention. went inside and there was a lad i was at school with. aint seen him for 4 years and never really had the urge to.he was a bit of a tit you see. dont do my work cos i'm ard sort of bloke! nob end in other words. anyway got talking and he soon got onto car. telling me that he had just bought an 05 plate clio sport bla bla bla. he then said its out side if you wanna have a look. when i could finally get a word in between him telling me how quick it was and how he was going to buy a vts but this is loads quicker, i finnaly then mentioned i had a 172. his face soon changed and then i just had to tell him that on a real one the sport badge goes under the renault and not the clio!!!!
he didn't say much else jumped in his car and went!!!:rasp:

Was about £450 fully comp. back then in 1989!! Now pay £430 for the 182...there are some advantages to getting older!!
