Hi all,

Bought a phase 1 172 a few months ago and in my wisdom i had the cambelt done not long after purchase. However i had it done at a local garage (not so wise i now discover) and as many have found i am not so sure that it has be timed right.
Just wondered where the best place to take it for checking/correcting in the south yorkshire area and at what sort of cost id be looking at?

RS Tuning are in leeds, you'll have to ring them for a price on timing it though.

DDC in Doncaster or RS Tuning in Leeds if you wanna stay local. Diamond Motors in Nottingham if you wanna go further afield.

Price wise, no idea, give them a call.

Diamond motors in Nottingham as said.. Very close to the junction 25 of M1 so not TOO far really. Can't recommend them enough really

Thanks for the replys. Tried to call rstuning today but there workshops shut until monday so might have to give them a try. Been out in car today. Still not sure if its out or not. Would it be obvious if it was out even if by only a touch? Only had the car a week before i had it done and been using it for a fair few weeks since so its hard to compare to what it was before

RS Tuning looked at the timing on mine and it cost £39. 1/2 hour labour and cam seal replaced. They're often mega busy so they might suggest you go to RS Murray, his dad's place in Headingly.

Mick @ Diamond is a top bloke and Notts isn't that far for you?

Waited a week for Paul's chap to look at mine, waiting lists seem to be longer for mapping, than the mechanical stuff, but it depends how many rebuilds/projects they have on the go I suppose.

Im from barnsley town centre. I took it to rimingtons in wombwell. Its just across from where i work n they said they had done a few before. U from town aswell?

Yes mate live in Darfield is urs a phase 1 my cousin is a good mechanic and no's his stuff pm me I could get him to check it over for u he's doing my gearbox next weekend
