Renault Track Day - how was it

How did it go? Good/bad points? Highlights? And what were the fast laps like, especially in the new V6 and R-Sports modded Cup?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA+* well worth £150, clio cup racers like a go kart on wheels, that gear box is just out of this world changing gear at full throtle, no good for the road though, cost about £7,000 or buy the car ready to race for about £18,000.

Only one V6 in blue, other V6 was damage buy a big magazine (not saying name! ) Looking very neat but £27000, alot of money?

Didnt see it a such, no-one (well me) knew which one it was but LAD was there and he made sure you knew he was, very interesting sideways driving style. Wish I had gone in the V6 as only went around for two laps in spider. Want to go back and play with cups again the dogs b****cks. The bloke from GTi magazine was there but was very timid, dont know if he spoke to anyone else. Loads of pictures taken by a few professional photographs who were around the track.

When did that happen I know the black 172 ABS light came on and wouldnt start. Bet he wont get that done under warranty!!!

Amazing day exellent facilities two tracks linked together 3 miles long flat out straight & i got to do 4 laps in the cup racer on the main track!! fantastic car to drive.

Was that just you or everybody? Last time we only used the cup racers on a short track.

lol, yea, when i was testing the only cup at Zhu Hai it was fun, best FWD car ive been in, and 215bhp helped.

my tyres looking a bit worn 3500 miles, one lad with cup said he had done 14000 & still on original tyres, i gess it depends how hard you push the car!!

yup, i went through a set of bridgestones in 1800 miles, i think i told you lol...dunno.

What you planning to get?

might give the toyos or the goodyear f1s a try,not really sure.

um..........try the toyos, at least they are cheap, F1s are expensive and rather pants.

Goodyears are not pants had them on many cars and great, saying that Toyos are nearly just as good and half the price

Main Track....so did you get to drive the Clio Cup race car on the 3 mile track then?

It was a Y reg 172, not a Cup, that broke its cam belt, shortly after it had ended up in a gravel trap. So no Rich, youre right, Renault wont cough up for it.

The Cup race cars are driven on the separate short track (as last year for those who came then).

Roll on 27 June !
