Tangoed Works
Had an issue with my local dealership (Renault Ilford). Bought a 182 a few months back and because they wouldnt drop the price to what I wanted, I thought outside the box (as you can refund this within 14 days with no need to give a reason as it is an FSA regulated product) and got them to chuck in tlc cover (worth £464 I think).
The used car sales manager thought he had done me over! Little did he know that I had read the small print and upon picking up my clio, I delivered a letter to him requesting a refund. A month later I phoned up asking where the refund was and they claimed to have lost the envelope! How convenient. He also stated as now it was outside the 14 day refund period I would have to lump it.
Hmmm.
Got on the blower to the FSA they told me which points to refer to on their code of conduct. Drafted a letter to Ren Ilford copying in Ren UK cust servs. 4 days later!! My £464 refunded! YAY!
It pays to know the law, you can screw the dealers at their own game. The piece de resistance, the Wanker that fobbed me off is the guy that has to hand the cheque to me as he is the used car sales manager!!!!
