Renaultsport 182 - Speed limiter Q

[VaVaVoom 182 ?]

Dear fellow RSportlers,

I would like to ask those who have already received their 182s. What is your experience with the speed limiter so far? Everything OK? No power dropouts or similar stuff?

Please report. Your detection will be much appreciated.

Seconded.

Wrx, it limits the speed by cutting the connection to the throttle by wire.

When does it do that then Tom? Is it like a less harsh rev limiter? Or is it related to the cruise?

You set it to a speed.. then you cant go any higher at all.. unless you click down on the "stage2" thing at the end of the pedal..

Say you set it to 40.. you accelerate hard as you can.. and itll stop dead at 40.. and stay there..

You set the switch to speed limiter, then reach the speed you want to limit and press + then you can lower the limit or increase with + and -

To turn off you press o to resume you press r

Plus you can over ride with the WOT switch (thats what i call it anyway)

The cut out is soft not like a rev limiter.

It basically uses the cruise system to limit the speed rather than hold it there.

Sounds like a useful addition if you have a very heavy right foot.

Ive used it in london city center and through some roadworks.

its useful to a point.

Ive never used the speed limiter but the cruise control is fun, set it to 123 turn it off, then slow down , slap it in third and hit resume! lol
