Reno once again providing me with reasons

  Mondeo STTDCI

to be PISSED OFF.

Went in for my service today, and was duly charged £156 for the pleasure of waiting around doing jobs I could do myself to get a stamp in my book. BUT this is not the reason I am pissed off.

After consulting you lovely forum people I mentioned the wheel bearing and the response? The service man (not a tech) came out and told me that the traffic was too bad to get it road tested. Now this is Reno Romford and the A127 was running just fine. All it woulda taken was a 10min trip to the next junction! He told me I had a ball joint showing "signs of wear".

He finally comes back an hour later and tells me I need a new wheel bearing (DUH!) and the ball joint NEITHER of which they have in stock. GREAT. Good thing is I get to come back on Monday to get it sorted. SO thats ok.

This was not my major gripe. My major gripe was the fact that they didnt wanna sell me a car. I wanted to test a 172 cos Ive never driven one and hoped they;d have one used I could take out.

Basically he didnt wanna help me, didnt wanna talk to me, and didnt wanna know. I thought salesmen worked on commission and would be eager. Dunno how the f**k they sell any cars with the attitude they showed me.

Its bloody gay. I will end up going in there with the money in CASH in a briefcase and have them falling over themselves to help me.

Rather they had the balls to just say it instead of being just generally unhelpful.

I found this at one dealership, I went there to buy a yellow 172. It was minter. They wouldnt entertain me so, I complained to the Managing director and called in at the dealership, after I got my 172 else were. Sometimes wonder about that yellow 172....

Renault in Sheffield couldnt have been more helpfull in trying to sell me the ltd edition 172 (that green one), which i was only looking at because the mechanic took so long to come and have a look at the car, all i wanted was new washer jets put on (neon, obviously). The best thing is, the mechanic never appeared after 20 mins of waiting, spose ill have to do it my self then.

I had a salesman with me (at the other end of the fore court) within a minute, all i did was wander over to the car and peer in the window. That was me dressed as a typical student (jeans and hoody).

i wanted 2 test drive a 206 gti, arranged the test drive and everything, then when i turned up, they made me wait 2 1/2 hours, by which time they were closing. so i got 2 minutes in it. at 6 at night. in rush hour!!

I only went to the dealer to see about the cost of a cam belt replacement for a 1.2RL 8v Clio Versaillies and while I was there I had a look at the new clios (i was planning on getting a 53 reg one cos i only had £4k at the time) for like under a min and the salesman came flying over and next thing I know hes trying to sell me a year old 1.4 16v dynamique+ (with aircon etc) for £8,000! He was prepared to give me 1.5k for mine but against a new one it was a grand. I thought to myself, well the aircon is nice and all that but for an extra 1.5k i could get a new one and get a black one, not a silver one which I didnt want, plus the cost of insurance was probably a grand so it would have cost £9,000 plus about £300 in interest = cost of new + free insurance.
