Repainting Konis

Car  ph1 track weapon
Bought some Konis that are in need of a little paint, and gonna take on the task myself.

I'm wanting to remove the the bumpstops and all other parts so i'm just left with a bare shock. Should it all be fairly straightforward or as theyre adjustable dampers, will i have to do things differently or leave it to a professional?

any help much appreciated
