replacement coils

A friends 1.4 megane coupe has recently started to misfire.Apparently it needs 2 of its four coils replacing,the garage has quoted 400 quid.i think that sounds a bit steep.Anyone know how much the parts are,how much labours involved,and is it easy to do the job myself?Or is that a fair price from the garage.

Thats silly money only a few minutes to change them yourself there not that expensive either new £32 each new from Renault. Ebay for £64 for the whole set of 4 new ones I belive.

You often only need to change one but you should chnage both sets ie 1 and 3/ 2 and 4 . I'd personaly change the lot.

So if say the number 1 piston one is going you cna just chnage the 1. Idealy you should chnage the 1 and 3 but I'd say change all 4 as they often break all together.
