Replacement Trophy Suspension

Hi all,

Needing to replace the suspension on ma trophy as the Sachs dampers need re-furbed..!! Am needin to get sumthing half decent so to use while i got this done.. Plus think that the trophy always sat too high and think it wud look the nuts lowered..!!
Was thinkin o usin gaz coilovers or sumthin like that and was wondering if anyone here has it fitted to their clio and if so what do you think..?? got a ruff budget o about 5ton

havent sussed out a place yet to send the sachs dampers.. gona be expensive me thinks Dont think anyone up here does them..!!

Place near silverstone, ask on cliotrophy. Under £400 iirc.

i presume the trophy and 182 cup have the same hubs? If so there isn't much option really.

At that price, it's really gaz afaik. But compared to the Trophy set-up, they're poor. If it's just temp, get standard 182cup suspension than sell it when you're done.

I believe they are.... Its only goin to be a temp move anyway but want sumthin half decent as i think it will look well wicked lowered 40mm or sumthin..!!
Thats why i thot i'd ask bout the Gaz set up

why not just get some cup ones and some eibach super sprint springs (30mm all round) which are a good compromise between handling and looks

cheers for the input guys, the standard cup shocks wi springs is defo the cheapest route, but might have them on a while so gonna give it a wee bit more thought..
wud love a set of konis but cant seem to find a set that fits the 182 cup/trophy.. Does anyone know a place that sells them...??

Another thought is a simota carbon airbox.... Has anyone got one fitted and what u think..?? I like the noise....!!!

Espace V6 airbox with a ITG filter job done.. Simota sounds ok but is expensive unless you want to pay for noise ?

Yeah seen the ones on k-tec but they for the non cupped versions and the trophy is the same as the 182 cup.. different alignment..!! This is why i think my choice is very limited..!!

Feel the trophy deserves a wee facelift after having it for 3yrs so dont mind paying out for such pleasures and i think they sound awesome and wud compliment ma exhaust and various mods i'm planning... Just wanted to know if anyone reading this has one and what they think..?? They same price as a viper..!!

Anything sub £800 would be a downgrade after Sachs. If you don't have to use it daily just leave the trophy on axle stands while the sachs are away.

Have to use the car every day for work...!! I know nothing i fit is going to be as good as the Sachs thats for sure but i want something half decent..
Like i said wud luv Koni's but cant find them for the trophy/cup182 at the moment...!!

Yeah been trawling through various websites wi no joy either so far.. Maybe shud start looking at bilsteins instead, bit more candy but you pay for quality eh..??

Keep the Sachs stuff. As has been said a couple of times:

You're not going to better the standard stuff for less than 800 nicker.

If you decide you're binning off your Sachs stuff, send them this way. Mine will want doing soon but if I can have a set ready, well, win really!

I still don't understand why you want to spend £800+ on coilovers when you could have the sachs refurbed, buy standard bits (to sell on after) and have change from £500?????

Just because they came on the car, doesn't make them naff Renault bits. quite the contrary, they're massively expensive motorsport specification dampers...

I know nothing is better than the trophy suspension thats why i'm getting it re-furbed..!! but i dont mind paying for decent replacement as it may take me a while to get the sachs done...!!

and also got plenty money to burn at the moment...!!

Save your money and buy CUp Springs. Then spend the money you save on a new exhaust etc.

Was planning trading her in for an RS200 but have decided to spend a little cash on her instead of more debt so dont mind spending on sum goodies to spruce it up a little..!!

Already got a Milltek system on it.... Plannin a Simota Airbox, matched inlets and a re-map also shortly so i'm enjoying spending..!!

Always good to speak to people who have done same/similar mods tho imo

Don't bother with the simota mate, has shown on RR days to reduce power etc. Either standard box and ITG, v6 airbox or cup racer set up FTW

I've heard mixed reviews bout all IK's and to be honest what one person says another slates it and so on..!!
Dont think it wud make any difference performance wise, just sounds a lot better. Oh aye n looks mint..!!
Wud still have original box and itg panel filter so cud flog it if i didnt like it..!!
