Resetting an iMac for my bro help please

  Mk1 MX-5 next summer
So my bro has bought my iMac from me,
If I do a reset will I have to reload the operating system/iTunes etc or will it just wipe my information?

I've moved over to a MPB and transferred everything so that's all good but I just wondered if there's an easier way to sort my bro out.

Thanks.

How old is the iMac? If you just wipe it back to factory settings it will still have all the applications/programmes it came with out the box, which will obviously be iTunes as it is part of Mac OS

Yeah do that mate, on a machine of that age you should still have an OS disc in the box, grab that, pop it in the drive, turn it off, then boot it up holding down C. Should sort you out
