Resistors in my seats

  172
Hi all , before you say search, I have and I cannot for the life of me find a solution
I bought mk2 phase 1sport seats for my mk2 non sport , and fitting them was fine apart from the airbag connectors, absolute nightmare
The airbag and service light is on as the connectors aren't the same , only 1 fits together on the drivers side , a Grey connector with yellow clip, so I decided to just buy resistors and get it done , however
In the guide on here it states there is a grey block on both sides of the car but in my car I only have one on the drivers side , so only spaces for 3 resistors , and the light won't go off
Any advice ?
Really want this sorted as its so annoying !
The first image being the passenger side , and the second the drivers side
Any help appreciated, even willing to pay someone to sort this if it comes to it haha !

What other plugs you got?

As far as plugs coming from the car I have nothing , other than the thick black pretensioner? Which goes in to the seat belt holder ?
That's all I have , isn't there meant to be a grey one on passengers side too ?
Cheers in advance !

By wiring up pretension you mean just plugging them in under the seatbelt holder ?
On the drivers seat the cable comes out of the holder ? But the passenger pretensioner cable comes from the car ?

Quite hard to explain lol, but you can see on here:
On the drivers side, the grey connector just plug it in as normal to the car. As you can see, it is the wires for the pretensioner, warning beep, and sensor for how far forward/back the seat is. So leave that one plugged in as normal, and just leave a resistor in the black connector.

What's it look like on the passenger side?

The passenger side is just one black connector
Thinking about just taking to a specialist and getting them to turn the lights, depending on cost obviously

And how's the pretensioner connected on the passenger side.
iirc on mine it wasn't a connector, just the wire went straight through under the carpet, so had to unplug it from my old seat before I could remove it, then plug it back into my new one.
Then just put a resistor in the black connector on passenger side.
Connect grey plug up together on driver side, as long as pre tensioner and seat adjustment sensor are plugged in. Then just one resistor in the black connector on driver side.

If you were near me I'd give you a hand.

Alright I'll give it a go in the morning, where abouts are you ?
Must be a specialist around in Surrey ? Probably just a 5 minute job but me being a r****d haha

So to clarify, drivers side, you've got the grey connectors joined, and all the relevant parts wired as they should be, ie. wire going to pretensioner, wire going to seat position sensor, and wire going to buckle warning beep, as seen in my pic?

Then passenger side, you've got the pretensioner plugged in, and wire connected (probably not a connector, just a wire coming straight from the car)

Then resistors bridging the correct coloured wires in each of the black connectors (so you use one resistor each side)?

I'm going to have a really good look tomorrow and try and take pictures of everything I have
For example I have 2 pretensioner cables on my passenger side , one is really tucked into the new seat and the other comes from the car
Did the resistors look in the right place in my pictures ?

Take some pictures mate. On the passenger side, you'll need to remove the pretensioner wire that's plugged into the new seat, and plug in your one that comes from the car.

Its easy to get out if you just follow the wire.

Okay , so removed the old pretensioners as they were getting in the way , managed to punch myself in the face when it jerked out haha !
But wired up everything like you said, with resistors in the black connectors only and nothing, was about to give up but thought about just giving it a little wiggle.....

And no more lights haha !
Thanks alot mate , I owe you a beer
I'm guessing though that means the air bag seats are disabled ? Doesnt bother me either way anyway just wondering

Thanks again

A glad to hear you got it sorted mate! Yea a little wiggle always help.

Yea means the seat airbags will be disabled, but your old non sport seats won't have had any airbags in anyway, so no loss!

Glad to help.
