Respray Colour Code

I got a replacement bonnet for my mk1 ph3 as the existing bonnet (although the same color) was for a phase 1 or 2.

My new bonnet is metalic blue but the rest of my car is a metallic green.

Where on the car would i find the metal plate that tells me the colour code? I've searched all over the engine bay and on the insides of the doors when you open them.. (where the catches are) Any help please?

Also when im respraying... Whats the best way of getting the old paint off ? Scouring pad or sand paper?

im sure its on your vin plate its three numbers i think.

Where is the vin plate but? I've looked all over the engine compartment and checked the doors

In my Phase 3, it's at the bottom of the door pillar behind the drivers door.
