Respraying badges- cant get them off car!

  Clio
ok so decided to respray the front & rear diamonds and 'clio' badge. however i cant get the front diamond off, ive been trying to pull it off for about 10 mins with no luck. i popped the bonnet but cant get to it from behind. Do i need to take the front bumper off?

with the rear diamond i understand i need to take the boot plastic cover off. as far as i can see theres only one screw, surely theres more because its pretty sercure.

Oh ive done the 'clio' badge, using the credit card trick. however it still broke the clips but i can glue that back!

i know there loads of threads on this but ive follow them and still no luck.

its a clio rush if that helps, not sure if renault decided to put non-removeable ones on.

Front is easy mate. Just give it a really good tug from the top. If in doubt cover a flat head screwdriver in a cloth and pry it out

Done now, got it off with a screwdriver, however now i cant get the rear diamond of the plastic its glued in so im cutting away at it atm.

Oh also the boot closed on me so can get it open, can i just jump over the back seats and open it from the inside?

drop the back seats and move the metal rod downwards, that should open the boot, the rear badge - once you have the whole button/handle bit off, scrape away at some of the plastic clips holding it on, there are four of them. You may need a little super glue after to refit it

Cheers steve, its done now just spraying them now. will any sort of superglue work? as i need some for the rear diamond and the 'clio' badge that snapped

I snapped one of the clio badge's prongs. I used araldite as that sets rock hard, ánd it seems to be holding ok for now.
I used the same on the front diamond too, as I broke one prong as well :(
Thats not as important as I still have two gooduns :)

well ive now done 2 layers of primer, 3 layers of colour and finished with 3 layer of lacquer. will they be alright to go back on the car tomorrow?

  Clio
last coat of lacquar went on at 19.00 ish, will it help if i put them on some stands on newspaper then put them on top of a radiator?
Hoping to put them on tomorrow evening 16.00ish.

You can do as the lacquer will be dry, but I would be hesitant. For the lacquer to go rock hard takes ages, which is why I left mine for a week. Considering they are going on a car, I wanted them as resistant to the weather as possible!
Up to you, but you should still be fine :)

They'll be fine to go on tomorrow, but you'll mark/graze the lacquer if you put any real pressure on it. Just be carefull and you'll be cooshty

wouldnt bother with the radiator idea mate, too much heat may crack the paint, best off leavin them a few days in a (closed!) window!
