retrofitting aircon?

Car  Oil Burner
recently got myself a new clio dci, however overlooked the aircon:dapprove:

so im woundering if its possible to retrofit air con in it?

Ive talked to a mecanic friend who said last time he checked it would be £1k +

Renault basically told me to sod off.

So any idea's guys?

cheers in advance,

Can be done, but you need a whole shed load of parts and you will need to change the heater unit.

There are Guys on here who have removed whole a/c systems to save weight so it might be worth a look in the For sale section or put an ad in the Wanted.

You will need to virtually strip the car to do it though.

For the amount of money it will cost and the time it will take it would be far easier to buy a car with air con.

Sell the cr and buy one with air con its much much silier.

I wounldn't even both starting to look into it.

Easiest way is to get a DCI which has has a crash with aircon and swop all the looms UCH ECU engine etc. but thats a silly thing to do.

you are looking at quite a bit of cash for that most refrigeration engineers will not touch it with a barge pole and so will most garages you would be beter of buying a new car .
it would be the hole dashboard out heater matrix and lots of work under the bonnet and loads of wiring
