rev counter

can somone please help me!!! i have a 97 clio mk1 1.2 biarritz n in the middle of customizing it but im stuck on the dials :S i have replaced my old dials with some from a clio 1.2 16v but the rev counter didn't work!
so i brought some more and still the rev counter didn't work , can sum1 plz help me out cuz its really pissin me off!!! (btw i did plug them in!):rasp:

i did the same thing few months back, got dials fitted that have a rev counter and plugged it all in but still no joy, aparently it needs to be connected to the gearbox as well

can you do this yourself or do you need to take it a garage?

The dials have to be from a phase 3 clio or it doesn't work do it being a different engine.
