Reverse Lights not working

Ok, another problem :dapprove:

Today I checked all the lights on the car, every one of them works fine, except the 2 reverse lights.

Now, i've taken the lights out, checked the bulbs and they are fine. Replaced one bulb from another car, still nothing. Checked all fuses in the passanger side fuse box, all are fine.

What else could cause this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind standing out in the rain to fix it :dapprove:

Did you check the connectors for corrosion at all?

Probably the switch in the gearbox.

The connectors were in great condition, nothing obvious.

bmh.01 Where might I find this switch? Under the car?

It's on the side of the gear box from memory.

To check it, put your front wipers on and then select reverse. If your rear wiper doesn't activate, it's the switch!

The problem is on the valve of the reverce gear which gives the signal through the chains to the rear lights!you can find this valve on the right case of the gearbox under the pick up sensor..-at least in the clio II is in that position-in case you do it by yourself you will need to fill at the end valvolilnes in the gearbox.

Anyone know the part number for the reverse light switch for the 1*2 ?

I've taken it to my mechanic this morning (to give the car a complete check over for peice of mind) It was the switch.

He's ordered the part, and should have it Wednesday.

I will try and find out what the part number is for any CS member's future refference.
