reving problem

Had the car a whole bl**dy week and there seams to be a problem allready . All of a sudden for no reason the accelerator has just suddenly got stiff and wont rev fast. There seams to be no power, lots of revs but slow to get them up. Anyone tell me whats wrong or how to fix it? As im not very clued up when it comes to anythink underneather the bonnet.

Bump. . This just the throttle body being seized/sticky or pedel being sized up or somethink more serious

Thats a new one on me! Would take it to a decent garage and get it looked at.

Dunno then, i'll take it in tomorrow, but its left me a bit skint as ive just brought the car. Accelerator Still feels stiff and theres no power there at all, just slow acceleration.

The cars starting to make a woewing noise now when its idoling and at slow speeds. From the front of the car its coming from. Dunno if its related or another problem

My cars a phase 1 - 172. Done 59k and recently had timing belts done. if anyone can shed any light on it befor it goes in.

Todays been a bad day. Might have to get the saxo back nooo

ooh ph1 has cable throttle that rusts and sticks!

Any idea how much it will be to replace the cable throttle ?

nope, never done it. Dont think its particularly expensive

Going in Monday. Noise is still there. Im starting to think its just more than a thoattle problem. Could it be tappits or valve probelm?

They managed to sort it out. It was the cable and tb valve causing the trouble and noise
