Its illegal and dangerous to time laps.
8.51 was the best time achieved in a Cup.
Regards lap time though its very much down to driver confidence in knowing the track and pushing the car. The ring is a very unusual track unlike any other race circuit. 172s could run between 8.30 and 11 minutes depening on driver. Also the advantages of none ABS cars are there but 172s and 182s full weight have IMO more flat stable platform.
Personally i dont think not having abs is advantagous, i would prefer to have it especially at the Ring. It only takes one lock-up to get into trouble.
I think so too...Quote: Originally posted by davyboy on 30 June 2005

Eddd doesnt think he can go around there much quicker than he does without risking life and limb, so I would be inclined to agree too.

so edd can do 8:45, and EVOgone can manage 8:51 2 up after 25 laps?
Yep..thats correct
Seconded. As his passenger for the lap I can confirm an 8.51. Whats the problem?Quote: Originally posted by Clart on 30 June 2005so edd can do 8:45, and EVOgone can manage 8:51 2 up after 25 laps?Yep..thats correct
I agree. Although there maybe someone out there who can give it everything and get an 8.40. R rated tyres and suspension could get you down to 8.30-8.35.Quote: Originally posted by jon_r on 30 June 2005
I would suggest 8:45 is the limit of the RS range.
Obviously factory standard.
8.45 is an estimated time according to the thread, if it was verified then well done as that is a good lap.Quote: Originally posted by Clart on 30 June 2005

Edd lives nearby, so he has a Jahreskarte.
Yep I agree Id always prefere it for safer laps however Im inclined to think for all out fast laps none ABS is better. Its not as safe though for definate for most drivers.Quote: Originally posted by EVOgone on 30 June 2005

i did a 9.34 in my 182 cup, 4 up, and we where slowed by a bit of traffic.
that was on my 6th lap ever round there.
when i go back soon, i will be going solo, and aiming for a sub 9, which should be easy.
