RIP another 182

I think it's about time to chop in the 182 😞

It just failed its MOT on emissions, a broken spring, a wheel bearing, oh and a number plate light lol
The exhaust is pretty annoying, it just had a brand new 200 cell sport cat put on a month ago. I gave it a few miles of thrashing before I dropped it off, but I have been doing a lot of short city runs recently so that could be why. The parts are about £150 and they quoted £300 for labour+vat. But even with all that done, the car was written off last year leaving it with a misaligned bonnet and bent rads. And a few weeks ago someone reversed in to the rear quarterpanel

I still love driving it but it looks like a piece of crap and with the price of the exhaust work and now all this, I don't think it's worth putting more money in to it. What do you think?

Ideally I would want a clean 182 with belts done, but it would have to be from a dealer so that I could pay with finance or a card, and also so I could dump my old 182 on him lol

  Listerine & Poledo
If thats what you want to do, why not.
Just remember that any second-hand car you buy will have its own list of problems that the last owner couldn't be bothered to fix because they cost more than they could justify.

Yep I can just see it having all the same problems I've had with this one. It's annoying because I've improved so much on this one but the shell is what needs replacing now

"Improved" lol.

Well, given you'll barely get £800 for a knackered 182 as a trade-in, maybe you'd be just as worse off to buy a new shed and add all your go-faster bits to that

You breaking the car?

Sounds like a bidding war! Ha

I would break it for parts if it's been crashed and crashed into and needs big MOT ££££

The money you make could buy you a better one, and you'll have spares left over. Personally I would look out for a car, buy it if it's good, then pay it back by breaking your other one. That way you can make one good one out of the two?

Unless your attached to it like I am with mine... In which case you are fucked when money comes into it lol

Breaking isn't an option for myself to do. I don't even have a driveway to work on it. Tom I don't know what it's worth honestly. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet. Keep it and throw some more cash at it or cut my loses like impreza says

Can't really afford either right now tbh haha

Get the spring, wheel bearing and no. plate light done as you'll need something to drive, better the devil you know ;-) Make sure it has a good run before it goes for MOT, a friendly tester might be able to get it through the emissions...

Just how bad is the bodywork? Do you have pics?

Also, can you do some of the work yourself? Alot of those faults don't look that serious TBH.

Also (vulture mode) if you do wish to sell PM me :).

find friendly tester and offer some extra ££ to put it through emissions test.
P.S. Hint -my tester is called mohammed..
