Risking it without a cat

Has anyone here put there 172s through a M.O.T leaving there decat on and not bothering putting the cat back on ???

On a local forum a lot of folk have put there cars through with a decat on and theyve passed no problems !!

Cars include, two 93 on RS2000s and a Mitsi GTO to name but a few.

Have you risked it ??

All comes down to indvidual cars I think, mates 306 failed with his de-cat on yesterday.

Mine passed with decat last Thursday.

You get a free re-test anyway right? So less potential work involved bt trying to get it through with the decat fitted. If it fails, swap it back, everyones a winner right?

If in doubt, just jack it up, bolt cat back on, jobs a good un, everyones happy.

I thought they where really strict now ??

Was talking to this bloke begining of the year and he reckoned no one could cheat the system cos every M.O.T tester now has a emissions card thing to run through a machine

yea so what surley putting the cat on for an MOT 1 half day out of 365 days a year isnt too much of a hardship especially when you no when you need to get your car MOTs so you have time.

By the way, how much extra power would a decat system add to a 182? Roughly speaking...
