Road angel 2 software upgrade further info

some of you asked me to keep you informed of this, its still on its way ive been told by blackspot.

This update will show speed limits at camera locations much like the compact version..

"This is going through final testing at the moment but it will probably
be another 4 to 6 weeks.

ive already upgraded my software once on it, to include modem menu. Mine was one of the early ones so had first software.

Anyone else wanting to do this, there is a link to the file on this site prob under my name somewhere.

I did that upgrade to mine, after seeing it posted on here a while ago, That one worked no problem. I guess this latest will probably be along the same lines.

I would think only where cameras are.

Fair enough, still handy, as sometimes its a 40 zone one minute, then 30 the next, just before a speed camera shows!!

The speed limit advice *is* the only feature I've always wanted.

I bought the RA cus' it's all in one unit, easily moved and it looks mint (blue lights etc..) but always wanted an Origin for the speed limit advice.

Now, with this, it is the perfect unit.

Your replies seem better than the ones I had. I got single word answers and nothing else.. or, at most, a sentance with more spelling errors than anything (even calling it a Road Angle unit). But hey, I think I got the info I was looking for, hehe.

Dear Liam,

This software is just for updating camera locations and does not have
the advisory speed limits of the fixed locations. The reason for this
is that the software is still being written and should be available as a
firmware update within the next 4 to 8 weeks.

yes, basically i was asking if we could still download the current firmware and where was it on their site. The last bit of their reply relates to the new camera location speed limits, which we are still getting. The software is still being written though and we will have to wait another few weeks.

doubt it, they have been saying for some time that we are getting this software update so they should do it soon. (Hopefully)

Justin, not sure, i do always seem to get a god reply within a day, usually the same day. I've got a 3 year subscription maybe they feel the need to write more

I got mine in the post. The only thing is you loose your subscription on the RA2, and the new subscription costs are higher and on a DD system.

I not upgrading i'll wait, end of the day i know the limit of the road normally, i'm just being fussy.

my old man gave his RA2 to my mum.

He got a TALEX unit instead, its 150£ got all cameras and a good update system with a fair price. Also tells you the speed limits for all types of cameras.

Looks arent as good as RA but its a nice small transferable unit all the same.

Yeah i sure wasn't impressed when i got the upgrade letter at the back end of last week - there is no way i'm spending another £200 when mine is only a few months old.
