Road legal track car, Insurance?

Hi guys was wondering what people pay for insuring their road legal track cars. I'm not a member YET as I'm only going to look at a car a member on here is selling on Sunday. But was wondering how much and who you guys use. I got a quick quote on go compare for a standard car (52 plate 172 cup) with 0 no claims (got 7 years but used on my daily) and it was £560 would a modified policy from a specialist be much different do you think? I'm 28 in a decent area. probably won't use it much and will probably be put on a trailer for track days unless I go back the Ring. And didn't want 4/5k of car sat on the drive not insured. Going half's with my dad on the car (he won't take his car on track to expensive lol) soo hoping I can get him to pay half the insurance too lol

Mine mirrors my main policy NCB and is insured for £300, without agreed value.

Just got my quote through the door from @Neil@greenlight and its a decent quote with Agree'd value on the car and also Track Day insurance for £35 a day extra if i wanted to take the car on the track

I have my 172 insured with them 7k per year all mods declared, and 3 points... £280 FC.

Another thumbs up for Greenlight. They didn't charge me a penny for adding my forged engine etc to my policy.

That's pretty darn good Fletcher, what no claims do you have? I know it will vary in age and location though with all mods still seems cheap. I was paying near to 170 for my bike insurance to sit there and maybe get 700 miles a year if that done.

Thanks Neil I'm on nights tomorrow so will call you tomorrow when I get a spare five minutes or wait until Sunday when I know what mods the car has and if I'm defiantly buying it.
