Robocop - Rogue City

Yeah, the balance isn’t great. There’s a lot of high octane shooty stuff and then it just stops for the best part of an hour while you do “plot”. Worth it though. Definitely enjoyed the expansion overall.

Please tell me you tried to walk down the stairs as ED-209 😀
Yeah - as soon as I read the "Mind the step!" achievement with the ED-209, I was immediately on the lookout for something that could either trip it up or stumble, etc. Pretty obvious where it was too. :)

One of the best things about the game and the expansion for me, people who know and love the films was obviously involved

Just finished Unfinished Business now within 11hrs, a bit quicker than the original game.

The last achievement (above), along with a couple of others appeared to be little more than random fillers for me. You're Robocop - why can't the achievements be more heavily biased towards combat - accuracy, headshots within a time period, number of kills with different weapons, etc?

As in the previous game, the standard Auto-9 sidearm becomes your absolute staple weapon from about midway through the game. When upgraded, it just makes mincemeat out of even armoured opposition and coupled with slightly silly mods like not having to reload, makes even the heavier weapons in the game appear redundant.

Also inline with the vanilla game, there seems to be a massive skill divide at the developers, Tayon. The graphics are most certainly impressive, and some of the level design is pretty good....

.....but the enemies are just so completely and utterly s**t-thick. I'm pretty sure I could dig-out a couple of FPS from the early 2000s where the bot AI behave like SAS operatives in comparison. The story is pretty weak, the end 'boss fight' is anything but, the dialogue formulaic and weirdly, the facial animations are those where humanity has taken a definite detour within evolution and are now a mash-up of features that all look 'weird'.

It was money well spent for the £6 I paid from Loaded - but it's definitely not worth full price. Too many meh bits, a couple of meaningless bits and not enough superb bits - the ED-209 sequence being one of the latter. It does have that vibe of Robocop though - there's no denying that.
