Lovely result mate, and please to see you having some good luck for once!!

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it on track and some photo's/video's of said track day! What do these things weigh ? 320bhp sounds like a right laugh!

Thanks Ross,

I'm hoping to get the first track day booked sometime around April, which will allow me to hopefully get some decent GoPro footage!

They only weigh 1200 kg! It's pretty lively!

Ordered from a chap called Paul from: http://pjperformance.co.uk/product/...-2001-ra-wrc-style-carbon-fibre-door-mirrors/ (Was previously 'EVOBITS')

@adamlstr they do some lovely parts for Evo's

Hero.

Very nice mate. [emoji41]
Cheers Scott,

I think it will be a perfect finishing touch to the exterior. I was looking at a set of genuine S201 mirrors but they go for £450! I feel the carbon fibre will be a fair compromise...

I've also got a non chopped front bumper sorted! Just waiting for it to be removed from the sellers car.

Great stuff mate, the new from bumper will finish the car off.

Re tyre's, I'm going for the Yokohama AD08R.

My mate who owns the S202 + 3 other subaru has them on all 4 of he's car's.

He comennted on a thread I made on the Type RA forum, and gave them a lot of praise!

I'm undecided on what road tyre I'm going to replace the Vredestein's with, but as for track work my choices are limited as 215/40/17 is an oddball size so I think I'm going for the Federal RSR's

The 'scoob' scared me half to death over the weekend! (It's been the first time in a while I've managed to go for a decent blast)

High speed sweeping corners are not very confidence inspiring! Very twitchy, and just generally not right...

Further inspection at work finds most of the bushes in generally poor condition (rubber doesn't age well!) especially the rear tie bars which IMO are 'shagged' 😂

On the phone to my local parts supplier 'Euro Car Parts' and I will shortly have the entire Powerflex collection in my possession! Which will be followed by the task of removing the relevant components, cleaning them up and painting if needed, then fit the damn poly bushes!

Hopefully this will go towards fixing my dodgy handling!

Crap pictures I know, but just wanted to get a few up to show off the carbon mirrors!

To say I'm pleased is an understatement! I've always wanted a set of these mirrors and nearly bought a pair before I even found the right classic! [emoji23]

I've now got the mini mud flaps fitted, clear indicators / side repeaters, and stick on registration plate fitted.

All I need now is an uncut front bumper! [emoji6]

Still love it mate, Rob I have the settings which I run if they are any good to you?

Basically mine is set to a more aggressive pro drive set up.

Thanks mate! [emoji4]

When you say 'settings'do you mean suspension/geo setup?

If so that could be handy as I'm currently stockpiling about 12 separate Powerflex boxes! [emoji1]

Once I've got the new bushes fitted, I intend to take the old girl to a specialist to have some adjustments made.

I'm going to phone Alyn at AS Performance next week, and get a price for all the bolts, nuts, and washers I need whilst I'm replacing the bushes.

Following on from the Powerflex bushes, and my quest to improve and update the Impreza's handling...

These have arrived!

IMAG0748.jpg

Bilstein B16's! [emoji4]

I loved the B14's on my Trophy, and knew that I wanted Bilsteins fitted to the scoob.

So the plan will be to Polybush the entire the car, and anything that can't be renewed with polyurethane. Will be replaced with STI group N bushes eg: rest subframe mountings, and both front/rear top mounts.

Managed to fit the powerflex bushes to both the front lower arms over the weekend, and found that my lower ball joints need replacing. So that's also on the to-do list along with the inner tie rods, and the outer track rod ends.

And then once this mammoth amount of suspension work is complete it will be time for some much needed geometry adjustment! [emoji23]

Updates to follow...

Sneaky, nice coilover’s bud.

I'm sure there will be fair amount of vibration added, but I think the pros out weigh the cons!

Hopefully my dentures will be alright! [emoji6]

Thanks mate,

I did look at all the options and was very tempted by the Nitrons, but my budget wouldn't stretch that far.

I'm hoping the B16's will be just as good as the B14's if not even better with the ability to adjust dampening.

I've also been eying up the Nitrons mate, was even in talks to RCM about having a set suitable for the road.

They are something I would love but not something I need.

Love it mate, have you fitted any of your shiny parts yet?

Oh and it needs the wheels changing to Gold.

It's funny you say about the gold mate, as I have been pondering on a colour change. The previous owner kerbed the nearside front wheel which is a shame as the other 3 wheels are mint. So I'm left with either trying to colour match the single wheel (doubt that's possible) or go for anthracite to all four or like you suggested, the classic gold!?

As for the shiny parts, this coming Sunday I'm fitting the Bilsteins, STI Group N top mounts front/rear, and camber bolts front/rear.

I've also got a pair of front lower ball joints to fit, and if I have time I will also make a start on the rear bushes.

Cannot wait to get the coilovers fitted!

Cool mate, Rob are you fitting the Whiteline bump steer correction kit for lowered cars or just standard ball joints?

Curse you Scott!

These look like an almost essential purchase!

Especially as I'm replacing the ball joints anyway, and intended on renewing the track rod ends later this year...

P.S the gold does look good!

Just wanted to make you aware mate, at the end of this year i will take mine back off the road and refresh the front suspension with this kit.

Just seen the make these also:

http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=39_274_322_323&products_id=2286

Which is a little annoying because I've just renewed my lower arm bushes with Powerflex bushes.

Which of course is still an improvement, but with no additional castor.

Hmm...
