Rolling back the clock

  Clio 1.2 16v
is it leagal to roll back the clock when i have my 2nd hand engine put in? My current engine has done 134k but the new one has only done 10k.

you cant wind it bk just because the engine has done less because all the other parts i.e suspension etc has done more so it is illegal unless your gonna change everything on the car

It's illegal if you ever plan to sell it, unless you document it and tell the new owner, and even then, it's dodgy. And one assumes you wouldn't be telling them otherwise you wouldn't bother to roll it back...

so i just leave it saying its done 130k but the new engine has only done 10k right?
Get it in writing that it's only done 10k. See if you can get a photocopy of the service book too.

As said, it's not illegal to do it (they call it mileage correction) but it is illegal to sell it without informing the new/perspective owner.
