Rolling Road Day @ PowerStation

Last weekend we held out annual Rolling Road day at PowerStation, Tewkesbury. We had a varied selection of cars along for the day... mostly Hondas, couple of M3's and a couple of ClioSport's (Guppy's fantastic motor and my Trophy).

Big thanks to those that turned up to support us and to Evandim for organising another great day. Here are a few photos from the event:

Dragon Ball Z decals on the silver CTR? WTF?!?

But some truly epic cars! But the Trophy stands out for me for some reason!
And guppys scrape much?

nope, makes it front wheel drive, taking the fuse out disables the heldex unit

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does the car know the wheels are slipping? I would presume if the car detects the front wheels spinning quicker than the rears, it would put power to the rear wheels? But this is obviously not the case, as the rears aren't moving on the RR. So how does it work?

I am so glad this point was brought up, just spend the last 10mins reading this;

Thanks for the comments.

I am not giving out exact figures because, as a rule, we don't give them out without permission from the owners of the vehicle(s). However, this car...

...made the biggest power on the day despite running a conservative boost (check out the glowing pipework in the engine bay!)

I have posted up the Trophy's dyno plot (overlayed with previous results) in my car thread here.

With respect to the R32, the 4WD was deliberately disabled during the power run to avoid slippage and traction issues, hence only the two front wheels being driven.

Cirtainly not a dumb question matey :)

When the car detects the wheels slipping (via many different sensors, abs sensors, throttle position etc etc)) it trasferes power to the wheel/s that have the most grip, constantly variaing(sp) the power.

On the RR, they take the fuse out which disconnected the heldex controller leaving the car FWD

Nice to have a straight forward plain answer :) Thanks Russ, I had been wondering as well!

No problem matey, most of the time there are only in depth answers, thats the basics really, the heldex controller is what varies the power, take its fuse out and the car reverts to mechanical driven power, that being the front wheels :)

Does that M3 have a f**k off splitter? I sex-weed a little.

More pics of it?

Like previous years Humran with the M3 will be joining us out on a few driving meets next year so I'm sure we will get lots more photos of his new car :)
