Rough cost - Replacing CV boot

Afternoon, i'm just after a rough cost of what i'd be expecting to pay for replacing a CV boot. I have the part, i have the oil i just need it changing. The reason for change is my gator is split and leaking gearbox oil slightly from the top. I'm not too sure about attempting to change it myself, its the clips and getting the new one back in that worries me and i'd rather not be stuck without a car.

Theres a couple of garages around here(based in Manchester) that i don't mind using but would be good to know what to expect to pay before calling round places.

Cheers.

I paid £30 but obviously it depends on the garage, I was a regular customer.

As said most people swap the entire shaft but I've had no issues with my replacement gaitor

If your talking of the inner boot on the passenger side it should be a piece of cake providing you have the right replacement boot.

Drain box oil
Un do and remove one of the lower strut bolts and loosen the other
Unbolt the three bolts holding the plate to the gearbox
Pull shaft out, remove circlip on the end of the shaft, pull the spider joint off, slide plate and boot off, replace and refit in reverse. Remembering to refill gearbox with oil.

I'm pretty sure that sums it up.

Glad I paid £30 lol

I can't see how anyone could do the inner passenger side boot for £30 lol the gearbox oil would come to more than that lol.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow get it done, its pretty much all sat in my boot im just worried about the clips and tightening. I know some people change one of them for a jubilee because it causes problems so i'd rather just a garage do it. Plus i'm hoping while its off they can replace the lower engine mount that is around there as can i bugger get it out with as much swearing as i give it !
