*Rough* Euro Style / German alloy wheel guide

Euro Style / German alloy wheel guide

Smooth cleaned cars with small wide wheels and very low suspension ....less is more in this game. It's very much like the UK scene some cars are OTT, others are perfect

Specs

Most german style wheels fit a clio because they have a 4x100 PCD..... the main thing to look out for is the centre bore as Renault use a 60.1 which is bigger than the german standard of VW, BMW and Vauxhall which is 57.1.

To get around this

1. Look for wheels with spigot rings so you can change them to some Renault sized centre bore spigot rings

2. Have the centre bore machined out from 57.1 - 60.1

3. See if they can make the wheels with a 60.1 centre bore brand new

Offset will determine how much the wheel sticks out from the hub and arch

e.g

ET01 the wheel will no doubt stick out from the arch.
ET50 the wheel will sit very much in the arch

might be worth noting down all the offsets, as i know it gets asked soooo much on here

Working out the offset is the hard part ;) ....All down to personal choice

I can give examples of offsets ideal for a valver

ET23 7x14's front ....ET08 7x14's Rear ....What my Silver valver had
ET10 8x14's front ....ET20 9x14's Rear ....Without arch mods :O

Maybe give the option of asking in the sticky'd thread ;) ....bad thing is im lame with Mk2's

may just be worth noting that spacers decrease the offset so 5mm spacers on ET35 wheeel will take it to ET 30, alot of people think its the other way around

  Turbos.
Nice one, as mentioned it would be good to get a rough guide on the right ETs for various Clios. I guess it needs people to try some euro wheels!

  Clio RS
I could give you some details für Clio MKII

very low you can go with :

8x15 ET 10 front and 8x15 ET 0 or 5 at rear.

Thats pure Sex :approve: But you have to wide the rearmudguards a litle bit. Front you have only cuting the inside border from plastic mudgard. Thats quit easy.

Next one Please:

9x16 Et 20 front 9x16 ET 20 rear 215/35

Thats not so low but fine too
There is the same work to do. Wide rear and cut at the front.

9x16 ET 15 Front 9x16 Et 15 Rear with 215/40
