Who told you it sounds better? Im a spaz when it comes to this sort of stuff, if i can do it you can, trust me. And there are no con's imo, it will be the best £50 you spend.

On some applications yes.

Mine was a different kettle of fish, remapped with the 98 ron map, and cruise control wouldn't activate, then contacted Henk, he sent me a revised map which made it activate, but it couldn't work out throttle angle, so was jabbing the throttle, and would kick itself out. Then Henk wouldn't reply to any emails after that. In all, left with an RSTuner, a map that was un useable. waste of 90 euros.

Then I was emailed a Map from a member on here, pre 98 ron map, and it worked fine.

see that's the kind of thing i don't want happening to me!

i use cruise control on a regular basis so losing that would be a little annoying.

so theres the 98ron map (performance map?), pops and bangs (overrun map) and whats the 95 ron map?

There isnt a 95 map only a 98 ron and the pops and bangs map.

Yes mate, yours. You have to take a screen shot and send it too henk, save that as a file on your computer and if there is an issue you can revert back to the original map.

are there any disadvantages to remapping your car on a regular basis?

No harm at all.

i was planning to get an RS Tuner, run the 98 map or performance map and maybe change over to pops and bangs every couple of weeks for the weekends.. when i go out to play.

everything just seems too good to be true.. mapping your car makes it run better etc, surely Renault would of done it from standard etc etc??

I dont know why renault didnt, must be some sort of emissions thing, or they actually WANTED the drama of the 5K kick, so that its like a pussycat lower down and only really goes when you thrash it, less torque in the midrange means less gearbox warranties etc.

I used a company called hi tech

They specialise in racing cars

I paid £850 for full service, Cambelt change, water pump and rolling road

Not that far from where my mother lives and sure as hell wouldn't let them touch my car!!

Take it to viezu in bromsgrove or hang on till beginning of 2013 and hopefully the midlands lot shall be going there for an RRday..
