RSTuner

  Clio 182 Cup
I thought I would post about the RSTuner kit I recently purchased to help any others who are thinking of buying one.

Firstly it does exactly what it says it will do on the website, I was able to view the fault codes on the car and reset the ones that I had fixed. I was able to backup the ECU and calibration before I applied the files that Henk sent me.

Now the biggest part for me was the remapping because the car ran well but not as well as I would of liked, but after the remap all I can say is WOW! The car runs better, pulls better and goes so much better and after a few miles of country lanes I had the biggest smile on my face. The Stage 1 map I put on my 182 realy does make a difference, I am now currious to see what the figures are for the car after the recent rolling road run at KTEC showed 175.8BHP and highlighted some problems with the car, like the map on the car was not very good at all and I do not know whom remapped it.

The only mods to the car are a BMC Carbon Filter and a KTEC rear exhaust system with a Cat.

Best money I have spent.

I agree the rstuner is the best mod i have done on the car !were those figures at the wheels or flywheel? what problems did they highlight??:D

I haven't noticed difference too much tbh. Apart from higher idle and no more lumpy cold start.
But then I probably don't/didn't drive it properly before/after to notice the differences.

hmm so tempted to get one, some people say they've not noticed any difference though :s

^^^mine was considerably noticable!! have heard a few stories of people not uploading the software update before installing the 98Ron calibration, if thats been done you won't notice anything different

iirc if you dont update the standard map for the ecu software version it doesnt let you download the performance cal file. Cant remember but i done it on mine and im sure thats what happened. Noticed big differences everywhere:

No more rough running when cold
Better fuel consumption
Alot more power mid range (2k to 5k)
Raised rev limit (which i think you dont really need)

Apart from that, the software for the laptop has some nice features

Going to map mine on friday if i get time, hoping for some good gains for the money :)

Yea I updated the .rst file before doing the .cal file.
Although I guess I rarely plant my foot when driving around, so can't really remember what it was like before lol.
So take no notice of me ha.

I wouldnt say it will make alot more power. Maybe 2 or 3 bhp, but it improves the drive of the car and smooths the power out through the rev range.

Yeh you don't update the standard map, just the ecu software then load the new calibration on(98Ron)

In my case the ecu software was 7802 and had to be updated to 7804 before loading the 98 ron map/cal file

Great bit of kit though and as said above the the laptop software/diagnostics is spot on

Think I'm going to get RS Tuner for my birthday. I've heard nothing but good things.
