Rtx or Lucas alternator for Clio 182

Car  Skyline golf and 182
Hi my stop light and battery have started to come on every now and then I've read this could be an alternator fault so have checked and it smells of burning.
I looked on euros and they have two brands rtx cheapest band then Lucas has anybody had an rtx or should I just get the Lucas.

Thanks

Have you checked the terminal on the alternator? Mine broke and gave the exact same fault as you’re describing - could be a cheap fix.
Regards replacement alternators, there’s quite a few different types, so just be aware.

Went through about 3 rtx ones in 12 months on my old astra. Tried a lucas, died 6 month later, absolute shite both of em.

Get a new refurbed one from Renault or one from a scrapper

I had a little look and seems ok mine seems to come on when at idel or when anything to do with heaters on but will go off if i just touch the throttle. I believe I want the 110 as got Aircon?

Ah ok just see on euros they did 110 or 75 and both state they where for 182 but only more expensive ones said for aircon I'll drop seller a message.

I bought one from that listing, came the next day. Great service, worked out about £30 more than euro shite and it will outlast any RTX or similar I'm sure. Didn't bother sending mine back for £20 but still could be a small saving

It's actually cheaper than Lucas one I was looking at so if seller replys and says it's good then I'll grab one cheers.

Probably! Pretty heavy item to ship back...

Although I just ran a quote, and its cheaper than I thought it would be! Might actually send it back then lol.

I suspect you just email them and they get DPD to collect it from the delivery address.

Works the same way as their returns option £3.95 or so.

Did see that one when I googled the part number but went with one from eBay link as local reanult couldn't match that price as said it was different part number for one they had.

Remanufactured parts have different numbers to brand new.

If you want one for tomorrow, just go with Wolverhampton Renault listing Hipwell posted above.
