Rubbing noise under light brake pressure

Any ideas what might be causing a slight rubbing noise when applying light brake pressure. Noise isnt there when not braking and also disappears under heavier braking. Sounds like its coming from the front left only.
Seems weird to me that the noise isnt there without braking.
Dont wanna start stripping its apart without some idea what might be causing it

Definitely worth taking the wheel off and seeing if it's anything obvious

Ive had a good poke around through the spokes. Need a break from the rain to jack it up and take the wheel off

Still not got to the bottom of it. Found that the rear disks have a rusty lip on them which seams to be causing a fair amount of noise, so im guessing its related to that
