Yeah I know about it being done across a whole panel but doing little patches just doesn't seem right to me!

If you had the b****cks you could use a stanley blade at a very shallow angle but as to wheather that would work is negligable

Anything I can do just call me mate.

I know the feeling, after watching a bodyshop pro fix my wet dry attempt don't expect all is lost!

f**king hell, read the thread and thought people were taking the piss about it just being bird s**t on one of the cleanest cars on here, but re read it. . . :(

sorry to hear lad, not sure what to suggest to get rid, like you say, might be a respray which is a f**king mare :(

so... do you lot reckon I have a future in paint correction?

3 hours of trying every product I could get hold of... the secret? Wet sanding with 1500 grit, finished by hand with Megs Scratch X, AG SRP, AG EGP and CG 50/50 to bring back the shine.

The light's fading so excuse the poor pics.

I guess I'll never know where the varnish came from... but im just happy I was able to restore it back to its former glory! :)

HUGE thanks for everyone's help, PMs etc... it really is appreciated.

can you notice it at all mate? do you have any pics of the area after u wet sanded it, before buffing it up?

I should have taken a progress pic... it looked like someone had attacked it with a wire brush after the wet n dry stage! lol :S

I just asked my old man to try and find where where the blobs were.... He saw them before so knew where to look and he couldn't see them at all. If im honest, I can't see where they were either and ive been working on them for 3 hours!

result! :approve:

Man, i've just spent 10 minutes reading this, it was like a rollercoaster of emotions. ha.
Glad you got it sorted mate. Car's awesome.

Well done mate, must be very satisfying, I would be having a quick look at work tommorow though as you don't want all that hassle again.

Your management, get it in the foyer tbh!
Also I think its safe to say Paul is on holiday as there has been a fair bit of Inferno activity over the last few days and he has managed to keep quiet.

try rubbin some thinners on it or some water based panel wipe. one of those should get it off with out having to start flatting at your motor

Nice work, shame you did not have any finer wet and dry as that would have corrected it but leaving you with less polishing to do restore the shine.

Bloody great work sanding your car tbh. I was expecting a respray after seeing the first post.

Amazing.

Looks like you did a great job getting it off, can't see any marks from it at all!
