Running costs (excl petrol, tax & ins)

Just wondering how much people spend keeping their car on the road over a year? I cant think off the top of my head how much I spend yearly, but Ive had my car 5 years, and have spent about eight grand (and counting)... I bought the car on 30k miles, and it is now on 65k miles. How about you?

Ebach fitting £80 (springs free!)

Shampoos waxs and other polishes and stuff £60 (at least!)

Cliosport membership and stickers cant remember about £10

Large amounts of Optimax......£lots!!

~£6k depereciation

~£70 for 1 new tyre (other were replaced after my crash) they only lasted 16k

£880 insuracne

£5 bulbs

£99 service at 18k

£20 brake pads

£55 for a cd changer which dont work

£1600 worth of fuel

£20 worth of shampoo

£7 Cliosport membership

Depreciation is £6k and running costs only £2750

Got my Williams in May last year and have reciepts for about 4500 pounds about 2000 of which are for modifications the rest on bodywork and maintenance. Plus 1350 on insurance and 10,500 miles worth of petrol! Not cheap then.

Bought my valver 16 mths ago for £2700, spent in excess of 3k on it and not on mods.....why did I read this thread, I feel ill now!

Hows about this for doing up a car on a budget then. Bought the car last June and this is what Ive spent:

£1400 Clio RSi - 83K FSH (with a few niggling problems)

£290 New 15" 5 spoke alloys with part worn tyres

£45 G-Max springs (£30 for my mate to lower the torsion bar and fit the springs)

£35 Green Cotton Air Filter

£50 K-Tec Decat

£50 3.5" Ashley backbox (last of stock)

£25 Strut Brace (Second hand - yet to be fitted)

= Not a bad little motor for not a lot of money
