running on 3? help needed non sport

my brothers just got back from shopping with an engine problem in his 53 plate 1.2 clio, its running on 3. iv pulled the coil leads of 1 by 1 and its number 1 that dosnt make any change to way the engine is running at the moment.

when the coil lead is pulled of its still sparking, any ideas what this could be? thanks

would the coil lead still spark when touching metal if it was the coilpack?
