running rough/no power

Driving along at 50 mph , went to accelerate and nothing there, dropped a gear and it dosnt want to rev, now i realise it sounds as if its firing on 3. Got it home and changed plugs, no difference, tried removing ht leads one at a time from the coil but couldnt find any difference, any suggestions?. Car has done 58,ooo and its a phase 1 172, thanks.

Ok i happened to have some used spare injectors so thought it was worth trying them, put them in and although i havent test driven it yet it seems better. One thing i discovered though was the phase 2 fuel injector rail dosnt fit even though it appears to have the same part no, and i managed to break the sensor that screws into the block just underneath. Can you tell me what this is for, thanks.

Its the sensor with the brown connector if you can help., and a test drive shows power has returned so a dodgy injector i guess.

that's your knock sensor. Will be down on power with that broken

Interesting, its running as strong as ever now, will have to get a new one and see.
