samco bends,,,,,,,,,,,,worth it?

  a green 1
this may be a repeated thread,

looking at the samco, hillpower bends.....

i really cant see the point in them, 70 for some pipe...

do they actually do anything other than look good?

allow fitting of an IK easier and provide better airflow by all accounts.

I fitted mine for looks above all else tho.

the Samcos have a fluro lining which stops oil coming in the breather disintegrating the silicone, the Hillpower ones dont have that.

Its a larger diameter so will provide more airflow than the standard pipe, proof? how can it be proven? Its just based on physics really.

a larger diameter than the std? thought they were all 70mm on a 182? and will oil will disintigrate the std pipe?

original is plastic isnt it so no. But the Hillpower ones dont have the protective lining the Samcos do so in theory it will destroy them, however in reality it would probably take such a long time.

It is a larger bore than standard

is the samco really a bigger bore? if running std airbox and performance filter the connections at either end (air box/throttle body) are the same diameter so if the samco is a mm or so bigger it still the same diameter bore entering the engine.

is any gain more likely down to the smoother insides instead of the ribbed original?
