Samsung Smart TV & App Control

I have gone and got a Samsung Smart TV and presumed you can then control it via an app on the phone (Samsung S2 using Samsung Link).
Really can't be arsed searching/typing using the TV remote, takes farking ages!
Have I got the wrong app, suggestions for the best app??

Try searching Samsung in the Apple App Store, there's a control app in there.

I've downloaded the Samsung Smart View. But can't seem to work out how to type/search for bits on YouTube/apps via the phone and it work on the TV.
Will persevere and see what happens!
